Requires macOS 10.12 or later? WTH.. What kind of tricks do developers use on run-of-the-mill software to make it not run on even slightly older OS versions?

Latest version 4.4.0 will not install in 10.7.5 Gatekeeper claims app is damaged and should be moved to trash

This program imports only data in text files. This is a huge limitation and one which curiously appears in many other plotters that are otherwise fine. Adding some form of binary input is trivial which makes its absence even more mystifying.

Crashes immediately on two 10.5.8 machines. Works great on my 10.7 machine.
I love this app, and many thanks to the dev.
